6 July Longer Morning Ride Track
Mercy. Here in Missouri, of all places, we are having a genuine drought. Our grass is dry and brown.
Instead of slushing and squishing when we walk around, it now crunches under our feet. Somehow most
of the weeds still maintain green and growth, of course, but our potted veggies and other desirable plants...
are begging for rain. SIGH
Of course this all corresponds to record high summer temperatures. I have skipped my lovely exercise rides for several days due to the fact that these temperatures leave me exhausted for hours afterwards, and
there is no stopping the continual required maintenance on the house, garage, radio tower, trees, etc.. etc...
I awoke earlier than desired this morning, but I tried to put it to good use.... I determined to do an "early"
morning ride - hopefully before it got too hot. It wasn't bad. Even though it was still a bit warmer than
desired.
