Out-of-Shape Riding

Today's Bosque tracking via APRS and Ham Radio

Jacque and I couldn't recall how long it's been since we rode the tandem together,.  We've intermittently ridden our single-seater trikes on and off but we wanted to take a ride together while the weather was favorable.
We'd already planned a trip to town to meet with our Son-in-Law Jerry, so we loaded up the tandem on the junk trailer and took it to town with us so we could ride the Bosque Trail afterwards.
The day was a bit on the cool side, but only enough to be pleasant and it kept us from overheating.
We were both SHOCKED at the lack of strength and stamina we experienced.  We've thought riding our smaller trikes were keeping us Prepped, but this tandem Terratrike is a heavy machine and required more muscles than we've been used to recently.
W rode around the Old Town and Tingley Beach area and finally wimped out after 7.5 miles.  We agreed we need to schedule more time on this tandem so we won't be so out of shape next time.  So tired after a ride on perhaps the flattest sections of bike trails in Albuquerque? BAH
We of course encountered all kinds of admirers of both the trike and the doggies, which is always fun to deal with.  Especially the little toddlers wanting to "Pet the Puppies".
